Uncertain Times

The more astute observers out there might notice that there’s been little to no activity coming from the Lisa Savidge camp for a while now.  If you’re not in the know, here’s the scoop:

The group, as it was, has disbanded for a variety of personal reasons.  Overall, there were a number of factors preventing various individuals from continuing with Lisa Savidge long term – to the point that, by the time one person was replaced, another position would become vacant until very little of the original lineup remained.  Therefore we decided not to continue through this process, as we wouldn’t be able to play any shows, do any touring, or produce any new material while new members were being caught up on the catalog.  That being said, there are two major points that I’d like to make:

1 – The album Lisa Savidge remains an accurate, permanent, and (in my opinion) quite wonderful record of the time that this particular incarnation of this particular band existed.  Nothing that any of us do now or in the future can ever change that.  Yes, it took a huge amount of effort and resources to complete, and yes, it probably would have benefited from a longer run of shows and tours and the like to support it, but to put that disc in my CD player and hear a dream that I pursued for so long take flight into reality…  Well, it’s an amazing feeling.  The album is still pretty new as of this writing, so I continue to hold out hope that it will find its day in the sun – even if there isn’t a live performance to back it up at the moment.

2 – I had already written enough material for a third album before any of these personnel problems came to light.  I am very excited about these songs, and they have gotten great feedback from those people who have heard early demos (better, even, than what is on Lisa Savidge).  I am determined to have this album see the light of day, in whatever form, under whatever name, and with whoever playing the instruments makes the most sense.  A new live show will come along with that, the only thing about which I can say for certain is that there will be less people on stage so that more extensive touring will be possible.

In the mean time, I remain extremely grateful to those who showed us support over the years…  You really played the biggest part of anyone in making it all worth while.  All I can ask now is that you keep an ear open in the future.  There are great things to come…
